Off of Lake Michigan you will find Silver Lake Michigan State Parks with 1200 acres of sand dunes and mature forests. Part of Lake Michigan's shoreline is part of the park, along with its beaches.

You can go off-roading through the dunes in sand buggies or ATVs that are available for rental at many shops in the Silver Lake area.

Hiking could be a good educational, relaxing and bonding time as you walk the dunes or along the lake's shoreline.

Water sports include swimming, boating, and canoeing while land sports include golf at a championship course with any Michigan golf packages or horseback riding. The weekends are famous in the area for the cruisers to hit the lake.

It can be a traffic jam at times out on the water, so plan ahead on the time you will need. Water skis, ski boats and inner tubes can be rented right at the lake or from companies a little further into the town of Silver Lake. Don't miss a tour of Little Sable Lighthouse!

Do you enjoy antiques? You can go antique shopping or try the specialty shops in town. Don't miss the miniature golf, go karts and bumper cars in Silver Lake Michigan!

Vacation homes are available from different companies and individuals so that you may find all the comforts of home, and quite possibly then some.

As a for instance, you may find yourself a rental with four bedrooms and two baths that can sleep up to thirteen comfortably so you could bring your extended family along as well. Some of the homes even provide private beaches and access to water, along with the jetskis or boats you will "require" when going out on the water.

The Hart-Montague Trail can be of particular interest.

This trail begins in downtown Hart, Michigan and leads you through this linear State Park. It is built on a former railroad right of way and has an improved surface for easy transport.

The Annual Apple and Barbecue Cook Off Festival is a big event around the Silver Lake area and is held every September.

It's held in the Silver Lake Sand Dunes downtown business district for two days. Features include live music, unique vehicle shows, an apple pie contest, professional cooks battling for the prize in Michigan Championship BBQ Cook-off. Kids events include craft booths and face painting.

Water lovers, landlubbers, and those who like to rough it will enjoy Silver Lake Michigan.

There is something for children that range in age from the wee little tikes to those who are kids at heart over sixty! Silver Lake Michigan is a great place for a family vacation.
